Our Program

Celebrate KIDS! is a faith-based after school enrichment program designed to meet the academic, physical, social, and spiritual needs of children in grades K through 6. We offer a high quality program where children are loved, nurtured, and experience Christ in a real and relevant way A typical day includes homework completion and assistance, a theme-based enrichment acliv1ty, an engaging Bible devot1on, structured recreat1on, free play, and a nutritious snack.

2015-16 Rates

After School Care
Part-Time Tuition (3 days)                            $50 per week
Full-Time Tuition (5 days)                             $65 per week

*6th Graders will receive a 10% discount. (Discount does not apply to full-day care.)

A 10% discount is offered for second and subsequent siblings who enroll in the after school program. Drop-ins are excluded from the discount.

Payment is due on Monday for the current week. We accept checks, money orders, or cash.

Days and Hours of Operation

During the school year, Celebrate KIDS! operates from 2:30 to 6:00pm Monday through Friday and from 12:30 to 6:00pm on early dismissal days. When schools close prior to 12:30 pm due to inclement weather, we will transport children from their respective schools to our facility unless weather conditions are too hazardous for travel. We will operate from 7:30am to 6:00pm on Inclement weather days, teacher workdays, and many holidays. Children are responsible for bnnging their own lunches. With a 24 hour notice, drop-ins are welcome to attend Celebrate KIDS! as long as space is available. When a 24 hour notice is not possible due to a last minute inclement weather closing, please contact the church office prior to dropping your child off to ensure that space is available. Drop-ins must be pre-registered and have all appropriate paperwork on file in order to utilize this service. Celebrate KIDS! closes promptly at 6:00pm, and the late pick-up fee is $1 per minute past that time. Celebrate KIDS! follows the Roanoke County school calendar. The program will not operate on the following holidays: Labor Day. Thanksgiving Day and the day after, Christmas Week, New Year's Day, and Memorial Day.


Space is limited, so parents are encouraged to submit the1r enrollment forms(s) as soon as possible. Drop-ins must be pre-registered and have all appropriate paperwork on file in order to utilize this service. A child will not be considered registered until the registration fee has been paid.

The following forms must be completed and turned in for children that are full-time, part-time, and drop-ins:

  • Financial Policy Agreement
  • Media Release

Note: A copy of your child's immunization records and birth certificate must be on file before registration is complete.

A Celebration Church van provides transportation for children who attend Penn Forest and Cave Spring. A public school bus provides transportation for Clearbook and Cave Spring Middle students.
If space permits, drop-in care is available, if space permits, to any child in grades K-6 who lives in the greater Roanoke area. This applies to full day, half day, and after school care.

Daily Schedule

Our daily schedule is consistent and is designed to meet the academic, physical, social, and spiritual needs of the various age groups we serve.

Monday-Thursday Schedule:
2:30-3:00              Arrival and Snack             
3:05-3:35              Recreation
3:40-4:35              Supervised Homework
Arrival, Snack, and Supervised Homework for Grade 6
4:40-5:00              Praise & Worship and Bible Devotion
5:05-5:35              Enrichment Activity
5:40-6:00             Free Play

Recreation, free play, and a movie in the Power Zone will take place each Friday.


All children will be supervtsed and assisted as needed dunng homework. A staff member will sign the child's planner after homework has been checked for completion. We believe children in grades K-5 should have a period of physical activity prior to homework completion. Therefore, the homework segment does not begin until 3:40pm. If a child is picked up prior to 3:40 or shortly thereafter, homework will not be completed. If homework completion during the program is a prionty for a child who is picked up before 3:40pm, then snack ttme will be combined with the homework segment for that child.


A theme-based daily ennchment activity is included in the schedule Monday- Thursday. These engaging activities are designed to spark creativity and generate excitement! Our current daily enrichment themes Art, Build-It, Science, and Team Building.

Bible Devotion

A devotion time occurs from 4:40 to 5:00pm Monday- Thursday. During this segment. children enjoy interactive praise and worship music and participate in an engaging and relevant Bible devotion.  

Inclement Weather

On inclement weather days, Celebrate KIDS! will operate on a full-day schedule unless otherwise stated. If weather conditions create a dangerous traveling situation, Celebrate KIDS! will close for the day. Celebrate Kids! will post closures on WSLS 10, WDBJ 7, and our Celebrate KIDS' Facebook page. On days where schools close early due to inclement weather, we will pick up children at their respective schools and transport them to our facility. Should the weather become increasingly dangerous, we will post an early closing on WSLS 10, WDBJ 7, and on our Celebrate KIDS! Facebook page. On days when 1t ts determ1ned that the road conditions are too dangerous to transport Children to our facility from their schools, we will contact parents and post thts notice on our Celebrate KIDS! Facebook page. 

Summer Camps

Beginning June 8, 2015, Celebrate KIDS! is offering eleven weeks of themed summer camps. Children will take two field trips per week, have daily play time at a local park, enjoy a daily Bible devotion, and participate tn a variety of engaging activities that incorporate art, music, science, dance, and drama. A one-time activity fee is due at the time of registration. For one to five camp weeks, the activity fee is $60. For six to eleven camp weeks, the activity fee is $120. For new enrollees only, a $25 registration fee per child is due upon enrollment. Full-time tuition is $125 per week. Punch cards are available for part-time or drop-in campers. A five-visit punch card is $150, and a ten-visit punch card is $300. A 10% discount is offered for second and subsequent siblings. Call the church office at 774-7711 for more information.

About Our Director

Jamie Petrone, MAT: Program Director

Celebrate Kids! is directed by Jamie Petrone, who is a certified PK-6 teacher with a Master of Arts in Teaching from Hollins University. Jamie taught for nine years in the public school system and two years in a private preschool. She was chosen "Teacher of the Year" in 2010 at the school where she taught. She also has over thirteen years experience as a volunteer in various children's ministries.
